I have struggled with my weight for more than a decade despite regular exercise that included running and various other cardio activities.  During this time, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and consequently a terrible metabolism.  I began taking synthroid and researching items in my diet that might be affecting my thyroid.  At this point; I began a gluten free diet in hopes of awesome results.  Even though, I felt much better, the weight wasn’t leaving, and I certainly wasn’t getting any type of tone in my body. 

I have always had a God given strength that I have been able to channel as needed.  However, it was strength under layers of adipose tissue that was a) not as strong as I wanted it to be and b) hidden.  So in June, I began the Amazing 12 program.  Having worked with Amanda Hudson, sporadically, before (mainly kettle bell), I knew she had extreme potential when it came to motivating and educating clients.    This program has completely transformed my life and encouraged me to adopt a healthy lifestyle.  Since I began, I have lost 22 pounds and gained massive amounts of strength.  I am looking forward to transferring what I have learned about fitness, strength, and diet to others. 

 

Motivation is an emotion that cannot be sustained.  A healthy lifestyle must become a habit.

For someone who works 50+ hours a week, I was skeptical at first to see how committed I actually could become to the A12 program. It became such a routine in my life that I often would think I was forgetting something on the weekends.  Becoming physically fit is a natural no brainer with this program, but it is so much more than that.  I now know that I can eat to live (and eat the right things) and think twice before snacking on something convenient.  My entire lifestyle has changed, which has increased my energy, mental being, and physical self. It is very difficult to put into words how God has blessed my life by allowing me to participate in A12.  I wanted to get stronger, safely, and improve my overall physique. There is always room to improve and regardless of my knowledge of the musculoskeletal system, there is always more to learn. This overall experience has exceeded my expectations. The best part…I was able to train alongside my sister and best friend, Milah McGraw. I loved seeing her transform from the inside out. I am truly inspired by her beauty.

I needed encouragement, motivation and accountability, and Amanda provided. She is very knowledgeable, yet so humble and a great teacher/coach. Most importantly, she cares. It was such an honor to train with her, and I am grateful to call her my friend. The quality of this program is unmatched.

I have a renewed passion for weight training, and I thank God for this opportunity to help others achieve their goals. Without Jesus Christ, none of this could have been possible.

The Amazing 12 program has been more than 12 weeks for me. I started this journey a year ago in Amanda's very first group. I was 210 lbs of laziness to put it honest. I blamed it on anything I could think of...I blamed it on baby weight (which some of it was, but definitely not all of it), too busy to eat right, and unhealthy food was convenient and I knew my kids would eat it. I finally got tired of the excuses and was tired of being, well, TIRED! Rocked out my first 12 weeks with her and gained enormous strength and lost 30 lbs. Well since I couldn't afford to have Amanda move in my house and cook for me and continue daily training I had to put on my big girl panties and do it myself. She gave me all the tools I needed to succeed alone and I did. I continued with diet and exercise and lost another 30 lbs from January to May. After losing 60 lbs within a 7 month span of time I needed to tone what I had lost. I contacted Amanda again because this time I was ready for another round! This last 12 weeks certainly paid off and I achieved the goals I set out to. I continued to increase my weights weekly and I could see even more definition in my body than before. My legs have become so much stronger and defined as well as my arms. It's awesome to show off these biceps I never knew I'd get! Not only that but my flabby belly I has really flattened! This program is the real deal and Amanda hits another home run!!

In high school, I thought of myself as “perfect”. I was 17 years old, 134.2 lbs (all the time), a size 4, platinum blonde, healthy from playing sports, and extremely outgoing. Then came college, I was still skinny in the early years, but four years had passed and I was no longer that “perfect” vision of myself anymore. I mean, of course, I still thought myself as cute because I love myself and who I am as a person, but I didn’t really “see” the person in the mirror. Or I saw her, but I did not acknowledge the fact that she had changed physically. You hear of the term “Freshman 15” which is when a new freshman gains 15 lbs the first year of college because they eat a lot and there’s always food everywhere. Well, I went above and beyond the 15 lbs and instead I gained 50+ lbs. Mostly from eating late at night after studying and being in class all day and that being my main meal of the day. Sandwiches, pasta, chicken tenders, pizza, burritos and anything else fattening was what I was eating because let’s face it, I was a college kid and those things were easy to come by. I feel like almost every day after binging late at night I would tell myself, “Okay Olivia, you’ve got to stop eating all this fattening food. You just HAVE to.” But then it would be night again and I would be so hungry that I just ate anything and everything. For years, I would do this and every day I would absolutely HATE myself after eating a meal because not only was it too much portion wise, it was bad food for my precious body. I wanted to work out and we had a really awesome two- story gym where I lived in Baton Rouge, but it was so intimidating because of all the cute, fit college kids working out there. So I never went. I continued down this toxic road when I moved to Natchez, MS. I mean it’s just easy to over indulge especially when you live by yourself and cooking for one is a tad bit challenging. There’s always extra. So you just pile it up on your plate. And then there you go feeling terrible after eating way too much again. And you’re STILL TELLING yourself, “Tomorrow will be different. It will be.” But it never was. I did workout at the gym in Natchez on and off, but I was doing simple machines such as the elliptical and silly little leg and ab machines that just really were not working my body the way it needed to be worked. Time passed and I became interested in acting. I’ve always loved acting and I am always entertaining my family especially during the Holiday season and anytime we are together. I became a part of the Natchez Little Theatre and it was then that I realized that my future involves acting. So, I applied to schools in New York and went and auditioned. While we were flying back my mother and father suggested I needed to lose some weight. So, we decided to look for a trainer. We inquired the Facebook world and thankfully found one. Amanda Hudson. It was then that I realized that there is no more time for excuses and for feeling bad for myself after eating a bad meal. Those days finally had to just STOP. I was not really sure what the Amazing 12 was going to entail, but I was excited to start a program to get myself back to the way it used to be. Or at least close to where it used to be. I started a few days after it began because I was in New York. I was terrified at first, but Amanda was so welcoming and you could really tell she knew what she was doing and how to help me. It’s funny because I remember on that first day she started me off on a really light weight for bench press and she didn’t realize I was quite a strong little lady. So we increased the weight. The first week was hard, but I started seeing results almost instantly. Everything is just so defined now and when I go out on the weekends I compare my legs to a guy’s legs and mine are so much stronger! Kind of like a rock! I also started eating very clean because that’s part of the program and my whole diet had changed drastically. People kept saying the weight was going to come off really quickly because of my age and they were right. I lost 10 lbs in the first seven days, which was really encouraging. I started to have days where I wouldn’t lose any, but that was going to happen. Then, it would drop again the next day. Now, it’s week 12 and I have officially lost 27 lbs. We have three more days of this wonderful and life- changing program so i’m sure I can lose those 3 more lbs and reach my goal. But, I don’t want to stop there. I want to keep going especially when I’m in New York. By being a part of the Amazing 12, I learned how weight lifting really works so much of your body. Like, it works everything. And if you really think about the body part you’re working on, instead of reading a magazine or watching tv while doing the elliptical, that it really does make a difference. You can actually feel it working. I also really liked how we always had a routine. Although it was the same stuff every week, it wasn’t really the same because we were increasing our weight/ reps/ sets weekly. If i’m going to be an actress I’m going to be seen by a lot of people so I want to look my best, but most importantly be my best self. Because I participated in the Amazing 12, I don’t want to quit just because the program is over. My whole life has changed. I don’t have the urge to eat bread, pizza, or chicken tenders. I’m not going to go back to that person especially after all the hard work i’ve done to get here. That’s just a waste especially for Amanda who spent her time working with us and hearing us complain and whine even though it was all worth it. The Amazing 12 has been one of the greatest things that has ever happened to me and I am so beyond thankful for Amanda Hudson who helped me and pushed me and taught me to never give up. She’s part of the reason why I never missed a day because she was always there to help us, to better us and to change us to a healthier,stronger version of ourselves. All in all, this program has changed me for the better and i’m back to my confident self again. Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of this wonderful Amazing 12. I truly do feel “Amazing”!

I am a 38 year old wife and mother  who was overweight and out of shape. I decided that I wanted and needed to start exercising after seeing other Amazing 12 participants' pictures. During the A12 I lost 12.2 pounds and 11 inches. I was diagnosed with mixed connective tissue disease in 2007 and take prednisone daily, so lifting daily had really helped me to keep my weight under control. Amanda is a wonderful trainer and if you give the Amazing 12 100% you will see results! Amanda has given me the tools I need to continue to live, eat, and train for a healthy me. Becoming involved in the program offered by Amanda Hudson, The Amazing 12, has been and will continue to be, a most rewarding experience. I have been involved in various programs and this one gives an entirely new meaning to the concept! I have greatly benefited from her approach to fitness. I am 60 years old and before starting The Amazing 12 Program I was very out of shape and had fallen into that middle age slump :(  My mother and grandmother both had severe osteoporosis. My recent bone density test showed that I also had it. I knew I had to do something to try to combat this bone disease that many post menopausal  women suffer from. The best way to do that is to add bone building medication, add calcium and do weight bearing exercise. My nurse practioner Angela Letard told me about the Amazing 12 and the rest is history. I lost weight and inches, but most importantly I GOT SO MUCH STRONGER. My last day of the program I was able to dead lift 185lbs! I'm so thankful to our Coach Amanda Hudson for her excellent training skills and encouragement. This program has changed me physically and mentally for the better and I will be forever grateful.

I started The Amazing 12 to gain strength and muscle definition. I have always felt so weak in my upper body. I am now thankful and quite proud to say I have lost 4 pounds of fat and gained the upper body strength I have always lacked. Throughout this process I have not only gained beautiful sculpted muscles but I have gained the confidence to show them off! I can now successfully complete multiple chin-ups, something I didn't ever think possible! Thank you Amanda and The Amazing 12 for helping me gain strong, beautiful confidence! I would highly recommend this program for anyone, from those like me, the skinny girl that wants to get strong, to the person that has never really worked out before! Why did I want to start the Amazing 12 Program? 

I was tired of looking in the mirror and not liking what I saw. I have exercised off and on for several years, but I never would get the results I wanted. I needed guidance and accountability. 

In the beginning, I had high expectations of losing at least 20lbs and becoming very thin and toned! My expectations started to change somewhere in the mix, although I still have not reached my final goal, I have climbed leaps and bounds. I AM strong!!!! Not just physically, but mentally too. When I look in the mirror, I am happier, more confident, healthier, stronger, and I began to like what I was seeing!! This program has helped me in so many ways, and it's so much more than just weight loss...It's life changing! 

Many that know me may find this hard to believe, but in the beginning I was completely intimidated! I wondered if I'd be able to keep up with everyone or even do the exercises. I was afraid that my hand (I was born with only part of my right hand) would hold me back in areas, which was my reasoning for never trying free weights. I did not want to stand out as being different from everyone else, and I've worked hard all my life not to! I've always found my own way around doing things, nevertheless,  weight training was just one thing that felt was out of my reach. BUT,  with the encouragement from my husband, I managed to gain the courage to sign up for the Amazing 12 and I am certainly glad that I did!! ( I want to mention that right from the beginning, Amanda was very excited  to work with me and to help me to conquer any challenges I might have.) I learned quickly that I could do much more than I imagined, Amanda worked with me and for me, always trying to find ways that would give me good results if I needed to make modifications. I can not say enough about what an amazing trainer she is! She has helped me to overcome my fear and any intimidation I had with lifting weights, and she has been beside me every step of the way! I'm so grateful! Thank you Amanda!!

My name is Wendy Ferguson and I am a 33 year old mother of 2 extremely active little girls.   In 2008 I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. With this diagnosis my weight started to get out of hand because I felt so bad all of the time.  In July of 2014 I had to have a complete hysterectomy.  The weight of having 2 babies combined with the fibromyalgia and the hysterectomy my weight became completely out of control.  By this time I pretty much stopped looking in the mirror and wouldn’t let anyone take a picture of me.  I did not like the blob that was looking back at me. 

One day a friend put her 1st 6 weeks picture on facebook of this “Amazing 12 Body Transformation” she was doing. My whole world changed!  I asked her what was she doing and I wanted in.  I contacted Amanda and soon after I was signed up.  I feel so blessed that I had this great opportunity to train with Amanda and the other 3 women in my group.

My advice is to let Amanda train you and do the Amazing 12!  Begin with an open heart and mind and just remember everyone who is in your group is doing this because they want change just like you!  Our group did such a great job of cheering each other on to give that little extra push.  You’re going to have fun and you’re going to work your bootie off but you’re going to get so strong and you’ll look and feel great!

This has been a life altering experience for me and I'm so happy with my results.  I am sad that it is over but I plan to continue my workouts from now on!!!

I am a full time Nurse Practitioner and am 53 years old. After the age of 50 I found myself gaining weight, getting flabby and staying tired. I simply just felt old.  I went to work and could not wait to get home do the dinner thing and get In my bed every day. I had trained with Amanda about 1 1/2 years ago and loved it. Amanda was just starting the Amazing 12 and had one spot left. I knew that spot was for me. Over the course of those first 12 weeks I saw my body change in ways I could not have imagined. I lost weight, many inches and gained strength and pride in my ability to be truly strong. I was so AMAZED by my progress that I signed up for another 12 weeks and plan to continue being strong and healthy.  I could not have accomplished what I have without the encouragement and help of Amanda and the Amazing 12 program.

"Prior to starting The Amazing 12 program, my workout routines usually consisted of starting something for a few days and then finding excuses not to stick with it. I'm a night NICU nurse, working almost an hour and a half from home, so it was always very easy to talk myself into not having enough time or being too tired. That did not happen once I started A12. I had never done heavy lifting before, but in my head, I was strong. Turns out, that was not very accurate. My first week, I was determined to have a one rep max of 140# on the lat pull downs. That didn't happen. Neither did 130#. I had to settle for 120# and I was not happy about it. During Week 9, my REPS were done at 135# with a new 1RM of 150#. 48 reps at 135# in only 9 weeks! This program really is amazing. The strength, the knowledge of how your body works, and the confidence you gain are incredible. This is the only program I have ever wanted to stick with and then continue. There is a noticeable difference in my mood on days I have to miss lifting (just ask my family). Now, my goal is to certify with StrongFirst and then I hope to become an A12 instructor, so that I may help others the way I was helped. Oh...and I plan to deadlift 300# by summer."

"Back in 2009, while living in Houston, I picked up an issue of Oxygen magazine and read all about clean eating and saw the benefits weight training had for women. I decided to hire a personal trainer and began my weight lifting journey. Life took me in a different direction, and I found myself relocated to Mississippi. I continued with exercise but the only thing I found here was group exercise and did not lift any weights. I got married and over the course of the last three years had two little boys. One day my husband and I were outside and he asked me to help him move something and I could not! I used to be so strong and here I was struggling! I was motivated from then on I would get my strength back! I found out Amanda Hudson taught a kettlebell class and I had read all about how great these were for strength and cardio so I joined her class quickly! I fell in love with kettlebells and Amanda! :) I became stronger and was happy with my results. After learning of her trip to Ireland, I knew I had to be a part of the Amazing 12! I have never been stronger in my life after these 12 weeks and my arms are proof! I am in the best shape of my life and will continue this lifestyle."

You get comfortable.  You get pregnant.  The next thing you do is look in the mirror and you're 50 pounds overweight.  Life starts happening and I found myself spinning out of control with my eating.  I eat when I'm sad, I eat when I am happy, I eat when I am stressed, I eat just to EAT!  Eating and never exercising was a recipe for disaster.  Playing in my yard with my two children became a chore.  All I had the energy to do after work was sit on the couch and watch the latest episode of "Hoarders".  My kids would beg to go swing or play on their bikes, but I had become so lazy and tired that I just wanted to sit and snack.  I started to feel depressed about how I looked and most importantly how I was treating my husband and children.  I had enough of the pity party and saw where Amanda Hudson was promoting this "Amazing 12" program she had just come back from Ireland learning about and decided to go for it.  I had never met Amanda nor did I know much about the weight lifting world but I saw this as a way to get off my rear end and get in the gym.  I have never been more proud of myself!  Amanda coached me and taught me things I had never known.  I found out I love Kettlebells and I actually ENJOYED lifting weights! Who knew?  After 12 weeks of this program I have lost a total of 30 pounds but probably gained almost that in muscle! I have changed the way I look at food.  I have now incorporated gym time into my daily routine and plan to keep it that way!
